The Azalea Project (TAP): Tutoring offers quality educational services that meet each student where they are, both academically and mentally. Beyond tutoring, at TAP, our goal is to enrich the students we serve by leading them to an understanding of all that they question. As we continue to grow, our seed (which is tutoring) will blossom into an enrichment center where students are welcomed to grow their minds and explore their individual interests. Educational Service
At The Azalea Project (TAP,) we know that students struggle to find joy and value inside the classroom, resulting in a lack of engagement and retention of information. We are nurturing the next generation of learners by bridging the gap between traditional education and real life by enriching a safe space for school-aged students to not only receive homework help, but also see themselves and find meaning in what they learn.
Learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. That's why our tutors are experts in their fields. Our tutors are passionate about the work that we do and the students with whom we work. We bring this enthusiasm into their sessions in a way that encourages students to work hard towards academic growth and understanding.
We offer sessions in the home where the student feels most comfortable as to eliminate one of the barriers to learning, as well as online tutoring. Along with the content, we focus on other aspects of education that are often overlooked. We put an emphasis on student voice and meeting our students where they are, individually. This has been proven to have a positive impact on learning.
Built into our sessions are opportunities for students to shine and showcase the things that interest them. We encourage our students to share their art, theatre, writing, etc. -- or better, we encourage them to share what makes them who they are.
As we transition into our center, we'll offer a wide variety of enrichment activities, ranging from music lessons, team sports, to art classes. We have options that cater to every student's interests. Keep an eye out for more info!

Piper is our founder and owner. Piper created TAP to bridge the gaps between traditional education and real life. She hopes that with each child served at TAP, our youth are able to find the value in learning both about themselves and the world around them.
Jatori is the first to join our team as a fellow tutor. Jatori hopes that through our work, students learn to be confident and joyous in their learning, as well as find the fun in learning from our mistakes.
KeVaughna is another one of our tutors who is based in Detroit, MI. As a biomedical physicist, she specializes in math and science for our students. KeVaughna's goal for this work is to improve our students confidence in themselves to accomplish a learning and work ethic that is unique to them.
